Erich Rosethis band defined my life both lyrically and musically from Icon to host..... after host they became my lifes blood..... every and any time I feel out of sorts from this life I can always count on Nick and Greg to bring me back to reality....i owe this band everything7 hours ago · 20
Mateusz Madej1. The teaser sound very promissing and the album will probably kick major ass!
2. Only 42 minutes of music in the basic album version? Oh come on PL! When You anounced that there will be "8 monster-laden tracks of doom" I thought there will be like 3-4 long tracks (above 7 minutes perhaps?) and the whole album will exceed 50 minutes. But than again the opening track is the longest in PL career! Damn excited about that!
3. With the bonus tracks there is 57 minutes and that is a lot but the bonus tracks often - although of great quality - differ stylistically from the basic material... What will it look like here?
4. "Frozen Illusion" :D? That will be a cracker!
5. Listening to the teaser and looking at Greg's current image is like putting an elevator in an outhouse :D The Offspring anyone?3 hours ago · 1
Bill VrabelI wanted to hear a full song but the snippet sounds promising. I was not big on the last album, hopefully this will flow a little better. Nick's vocals and Gregor's tone sound great. yay!3 hours ago · 2
Aurélien BacheletSorry guys but as Nick once said, "no celebration for me". I mean, you kind of feel like an orphan when you like the "Draconian" to "In Requiem" era... Anyone there in the same situation ?7 minutes ago
Ronni GabaSo excited for this release - I can't wait. After that, I'll be looking forward to your concert in Aarhus, already secured the tickets <36 hours ago

Kil XénoAnd it's because we all know that this is going to be one of the best PL albums ever, that we're okay with pre-ordering this shit without even having heard a single guitar note or vocal line! Well done....3 days ago · 1

Simon MowlesHey guys, I thought this might give you a chuckle. I picked up an old issue of Kerrang today for £1.50. Saw this review:5 days ago · 19
Mateusz MadejThe sound is great, the whole band is in really good form :)
But I have to highlight one member: Nick Holmes sounds remarkable! Damn, this guy is in better vocal form than ever :D
The album sounds great live and for me "Dead Emotion" and "Silent" were impressive as hell!
We need a Gothic reedition like One Second will have now!5 days ago · 4
Steffi SchwarzinYeah, that was definitely a highlight...came to Roadburn particularly to see Paradise Lost...thanks for recording 🎶...awesome!5 days ago

‘The album really was a vast departure from Draconian Times and for better or worse the beginning of a very experimental stage for the band. Either way ‘One Second’ will always remain a vital cog in the band’s close to 30 year history. We are happy to be working with Music For Nations again on this release.' - Nick Holmes ____________
The re-issue of ‘One Second’ is fully supported by the band and their management with their input on packaging and audio along with liner notes from renowned Kerrang journalist Nick Ruskell.
Re-mastered by the band’s current producer, Jaime Gomez (Orgone Studios), and with a CD version featuring a live concert from the time, which was only previously available on DVD, this is a must for any Paradise Lost fan, or someone delving deeper back into the band’s catalogue. ____________
‘One Second' will be available on: • CD (20 page hardback book) includes 2nd disc of band’s 1998 show at London’s Shepherds Bush Empire • Double 180 gram classic black gatefold LP • Digital download
Sergio MartinezWhat's the diference between this rerelease and the release that I have of 20 years ago?
I like all the albums, but the SoG and DT era was too short. More songs of this era It would have been better.2 weeks ago · 1
Kovács ViktorFor the better! What you did with DT and the few past albums are awesome, and yet you did One Second and Host, even though you could have been "more succesful" repeating DT and Icon again and again.
Anyway, great albums! (Even though, I like Host better than One Second :P )2 weeks ago · 6
Adam GordoisDefinitely 'for better'. There would have been no point trying to recreate DT. It couldn't be topped for that style of metal. These stylistic changes are what has kept the band motivated and their fans engaged for almost 30 years. A brilliant record.2 weeks ago · 16
Jeff SilvaLove this album! So many great songs in it, and I believe some of them deserve to be on the setlist regularly ( im not talking about one second / say just words / soul courageous 😬).1 week ago · 1
Emil GunnarssonThe first album i heard from you and thus the album that got me into you guys :D sure, icon and draconian times were the ones that sealed the deal, but one second was the very first! Will forever hold a dear place in my music heart!2 weeks ago · 8
Darren Lee WicksBeen a fan ever since "Icon". Still one of my favorite bands, ever. What I enjoy most about "One Second" the most is Nick's vocals. Very, very few can do goth style vocals as well as Nick. He's one of the most versatile vocalists in metal, his thrash and death vocals are great too. Greg has the ability to write such a wide range of metal subgenres and his songs are memorable. Albums stand apart so well. Paradise Lost: one of most under rated, under promoted and unacknowledged bands in metal with a quality legacy that outshines so many of their contemporaries. Forever a fan.2 weeks ago · 6
Ian PeacockI Think One Second could be a genre in it self. Classic goth rock and anti emo. The feel is raw, painful and triggering. Picking up where sisters, mish and nephs lost it. One Second has nothing in common with Host. One Second is the sound of a mature band with lots of heart and in search for anyone's lost paradise. Cheers.2 weeks ago · 8
Nelson MonizI honestly didnt like Draconian Times for beeing a recopy of icon and i gess it was a poor álbum comparing to Icon.
But when i got one second i really liked it alot for beeing fresh and new. Even a bit comercial is still one of my favorites of all experiences. That time i was addicted to Tiamat's album a deeper kind of slumber for beeing also different and new, comparing to their previous ones, and one second came to complete sonething i was missing on timat's.
The one second digipack álbum is a bit old so will be nice renewing it. ;)
Cant wait for the new version.2 weeks ago · 1
Kasper AndersenThis is the one that got me into PL many years ago.
A classic album.
Blood of another will forever remain my favorite song.2 weeks ago · 6
Rene WestermolenThis GREAT album deserves a much more better Anniversary Edition. New packaging and some expanded liner notes...tss... And the show on the extra disc was already on DVD! I love Anniversary editions but this is a NO GO for me (I'm sure I'm not the only one here)! Nothing special to this 20th Anniversary Edition 🙁2 weeks ago · 1
Michael SmithI honestly love this bands work from Draconian Times onwards more than what came before.
Playing Believe In Nothing right now and all I can say is that it is a truly great album. One Second was a masterpiece and they evolved rapidly and then came full circle back to metal, but with much better musicality and style and melodic flair than before.2 weeks ago · 1
Pea TrayerBasically this album represents the begining of dismiss old fans and get new ones. Though I enjoyed this album, it was a departure from the unique and great "Paradise Lost sound" and a embrace of the sounds of Depeche Mode, Sisters of Mercy and The Smiths. I heard this album not so many times back in the days, and still listened very briefly. Their next albums just don't catch me at all, until the release of "In Requiem".2 weeks ago · 2
Geeno Chiariziaone of the records that changed my life! I miss those years, I miss your attitude from 1993 (Icon era) to 2002 (Symbol Of Life era)..
I'll buy this reissue even if was filled with previously unreleased farts :D
PS: there is no bsides in here!!! Come on, there were a lot of bsides in the OS era!!! I'm sad!!2 weeks ago · 2
Dexter PattenI'm not being funny, but this album didn't need a remaster. This will just be loader won't it? There was a wealth of B-sides for this release, and I'm talking already released officially. Why are these not included? An official MFN PL B-sides release later? I was really looking forward to something great with this. I'm actually bummed out.2 weeks ago · 2
Simon MayFucking love one second however I think it is there last great album until the self titled album paradise lost :) I still think in requim is my favourite album but love almost all of there albums! :)2 weeks ago · 1
Alex HenriquezParadise Lost IMHO I think that is an insult press an 50 min album in 2 LP, just to make more money....instead would be much better press in 1 LP the original records and a 2nd all the B-sides of that era!!!!( The Hour, Slave, Cruel One, Albino, How Soon is Now...)2 weeks ago · 2
Shakira GoffI love this album. Can't believe it's 20 years. I remember when it was released and I got freebies in the Krazy House, Liverpool. Still got the PL lighter somewhere.
I really hate people slagging off Host, if you don't like it don't listen to it, grow the fuck up and move on. Personally I love it. It got me though a very difficult time in my life.2 weeks ago · 1
Luis RlHuge album, a jewel in my collection of vinyls, for me, the best of the band and a demonstration that they did not join fashions or styles, they have always done what they have wanted in every moment or time.2 weeks ago · 2
Sebastian BxeI would really love it if Host would get a proper vinyl treatment as well. Such an outstanding and underrated record in your catalogue. Never a dull moment.2 weeks ago · 3
Frank Seidelpoor release in my opinion, nothing new. absolute nonsense! Instead of releasing sth. new, unreleased soundboard or some unreleased demos like with the Draconian Times release some years ago. This release is just for die hards who collect everything.1 week ago
Bill VrabelAwkward album; I liked the bold move of the band away from metal, but I still think the album has many weak tracks. Host was a huge improvement, but I still like One Second.2 weeks ago · 2
Luis RlEnorme disco, una joya en mi colección de vinilos, para mi, de lo mejor de la banda y una demostración de que no se unían a modas ni estilos, siempre han hecho lo que les ha dado la gana en cada momento o época.2 weeks ago

Eike J. Reinke“And it was really because with the last record [2015’s The Plague Within], the final song we wrote for it was called Beneath Broken Earth. And it was the big doom metal song. But it just turned out way better than we expected and we just loved playing it live. It made us think, we should do a full album of this stuff"

Mauricio Suárez FigueroaI agree with his views on Death, Morbid Angel, CF, and specially Danzig. For me, Greg is the greatest, in the same category as Gilmour and Blackmore.3 weeks ago · 2
Simen LarssenNo "Turn loose the swans" i thought MDB and Paradise lost was inspired by eachother, Morbid angel sucks really hope Paradise does not take inspiration from them3 weeks ago
Mikko PuhakkaVery good choices. (Danzig's first album is released 1988, not 1996).3 weeks ago · 3
